I break down the organizing process into five foundational steps: Sort, Purge, Assign Homes, Set Limits, and Maintain, collectively referred to as SPASM. These steps are applicable to physical spaces, mental workloads, projects, and even time and your calendar.
Drawing from my personal experiences, such as organizing my attic space and closet this month AND working with 100's of clients over the past 16 years as a professional organizer, I discuss how to initiate an organizing project in spaces that impact your daily life and the importance of scheduling time and involving others in the organizing process.
Additionally, I talk about the value of mindset shifts to overcome feelings of overwhelm during the organizing journey.
